Featuring Ernest Bloch's Nigun from the Baal Shem Suite, Robert Convery's Songs of Children, remarks by Richard Kaplan and James Winchell, Hana Szenesh's Walk to Caesaria and Grigori Frid's one-act opera, The Diary of Anne Frank.
Performers will include musicians of the Walla Walla Symphony, led by Music Director and Conductor Yaacov Bergman, Ani Maldjian, soprano, the Whitman College Chamber Singers, directed by Riikka Pietilainen-Caffrey, Anna Burgess, violin and Jackie Wood, piano. Staging by Ron Williams and lighting design by Cynthia DeVille.
This concert is presented as part of the annual “Music 360°", an initiative that explores the impact of music through different lenses.
Through an exciting collaboration with Carnegie Hall, the Walla Walla Symphony will present "The Orchestra Moves." This program, conducted by Dr. Paul Luongo, will explore musical movement by looking at the way composers use motif, melodic direction, and dynamics.

Under the direction of Dr. Paul Luongo, Music Director and Conductor, the WWSYO will perform pieces including Finlandia by Jean Sibelius, “The Quest” from Ponce de Leon Suite by Robert Kerr, music from Frozen arranged by Bob Krogstad, “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah, and the perennial favorite, Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson. The Walla Walla High School Orchestra, under the direction of Julia Woods, will join the WWSYO for the Hallelujah Chorus and Sleigh Ride.

SOLD OUT! This special event at the Waldheim Mansion will feature the Volta Piano Trio (formerly Icicle Creek Piano Trio)! Seating is very limited and ticket includes light hors d'oeuvres and glass of Mansion Creek Cellars wine. Doors open at 5pm, music will begin at approximately 6pm.
