On Thursday, November 20th and Friday, November 21st, the Walla Walla Symphony presented our annual Free Youth and Family Concerts. The program, conducted by Dr. Paul Luongo, explored "Music in the World Around Us" and explored music and animals (Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals), music and nature (Vivaldi's Spring from the Four Seasons), music and youth (featuring 13-year-old Valeria Heredia on Saint-Saens' Cello Concerto) and finally, music and dance, featuring a performance of Walla Walla's own Ballet Folklorico!
The Free Family Concert raised 849 pounds of food for our local foodbank and over 2,700 children in grades 3-5 attended the free Youth Concerts.
A very special THANK YOU to our sponsors who make these free concerts possible: Anonymous, Key Technology, Community Bank, Tallman's, Whitman College, Union-Bulletin.
